Pyle Technologies, Inc. ("Pyle," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information about you when you use the Pyle mobile application ("App"), our website at www.getpyle.com ("Website"), and all related services (collectively, the "Services").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, creating an account, or accessing any part of the Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service, available at www.getpyle.com/terms-of-service.

The Services are intended for use only by residents of the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please do not use the Services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.
  • Gift Card Information: We collect the gift card details you choose to store, including card number, PIN, balance, issuing brand, and expiration date.
  • Profile Information: If you add a profile picture or other optional profile details, we collect that information.
  • Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Services, including hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Information: We collect information about how you use the Services, including features you interact with, session duration, and actions taken within the App.
  • Diagnostic Data: We collect crash reports and performance data to identify and fix bugs and improve the stability of the App.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information from third-party service providers that help us operate the Services, such as our cloud infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) and analytics services. We do not receive personal information from gift card issuers or retailers unless you explicitly initiate a balance check through a supported integration.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

Pyle does not collect or store payment card information. All subscription payments for Pyle Plus are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not have access to your payment method details. Pyle does not serve advertisements and does not use your information for advertising or ad-targeting purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including storing and displaying your gift card information
  • To process and manage your Pyle Plus subscription through the applicable App Store
  • To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity
  • To respond to your questions, comments, and support requests
  • To send you transactional communications, including account confirmations, security alerts, and service updates
  • To send you marketing or promotional communications, where you have opted in to receive them
  • To monitor, analyze, and improve the performance, security, and functionality of the Services
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorized access, and other illegal activity
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the rights and interests of Pyle and our users

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not use your information to serve you advertising of any kind.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We share information with third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting (Google Firebase), analytics, and customer support tooling. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

4.2 App Stores

When you purchase a Pyle Plus subscription, the applicable App Store (Apple or Google) processes the transaction. Information shared with App Stores is governed by their respective privacy policies. We do not receive your payment method information from App Stores.

4.3 Legal Compliance and Protection

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process (such as a court order or subpoena), or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pyle, our users, or the public, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.

4.4 Business Transfers

If Pyle is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or other business combination, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice through the Services or by other means before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.5 With Your Consent

We may share your information with third parties when you give us your explicit consent to do so.

4.6 Aggregated or De-Identified Data

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you with third parties for research, analytics, or other business purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Storage Infrastructure

Your information, including gift card data, is stored using Google Firebase's secure cloud infrastructure. All sensitive gift card information, including card numbers and PINs, is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption methods. We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5.2 Security Limitations

No security system is completely impenetrable. While we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users promptly and without unreasonable delay, including information about what occurred, what data was involved, steps we are taking to mitigate harm, and any actions you can take to protect yourself, as required by applicable law.

5.3 Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and gift card data within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Account Information

You may review, update, or correct your account information at any time through the account settings in the App. You may also request deletion of your account by contacting us at support@getpyle.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain information.

6.2 Marketing Communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those communications or by contacting us at support@getpyle.com. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you non-promotional messages related to your account or the Services, such as security alerts and transaction confirmations.

6.3 Push Notifications

If you consent to push notifications, we may send you reminders and updates about your gift cards. You can disable push notifications at any time through the notification settings in the App or through your device settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the Services.

6.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our Website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience. Most web browsers accept cookies by default; you can configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the Website. Our App does not use browser cookies.

6.5 Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites. Because there is no uniform standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, our Website does not currently respond to DNT signals. We will revisit this position as industry standards develop.

6.6 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with the following rights:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (Pyle does not sell or share personal information)
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise your California privacy rights, please contact us at support@getpyle.com or privacy@getpyle.com. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days, with a possible extension of an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary.

6.7 Other State Privacy Rights

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of their personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@getpyle.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information.

If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to our Terms of Service before you use the Services. If you believe we have collected information from a child under the age of 13, please contact us immediately at support@getpyle.com.

8. App Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions to provide its core functionality:

  • Camera Access: Used to scan gift card barcodes when adding a card. Required for barcode scanning functionality.
  • Photo Library Access: Used to upload a profile picture. This permission is optional and does not affect core gift card functionality.
  • Notification Permissions: Used to send you reminders and important updates about your gift cards. This permission is optional.

You can manage these permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking a permission may limit certain features of the App but will not affect your ability to access your stored gift cards.

9. Platform-Specific Provisions

9.1 Apple App Store

As required by Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and App Tracking Transparency framework:

  • We do not use or collect data for cross-app or cross-site tracking purposes as defined by Apple.
  • We respect your App Tracking Transparency preferences and will not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.
  • Any third-party SDKs integrated into the App that collect data are subject to this Privacy Policy and have been evaluated for compliance with Apple's requirements.

9.2 Google Play Store

As required by Google's Developer Program Policies and the Google Play Data Safety requirements:

  • We handle your personal information securely and use it only for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy.
  • We provide clear and accurate information about the permissions requested by the App.
  • Our data safety disclosures in the Play Store are consistent with this Privacy Policy.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, including gift card issuer websites for balance checking. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the Services. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by Pyle.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Services, or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App, by email, or by other means at least 14 days before the changes become effective. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy reflects when it was most recently revised.

Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Privacy Policy, you must stop using the Services and may request account deletion by contacting us at support@getpyle.com.
